Is This Good Enough?
This world is full of people who subscribe to the idea of “good enough.” So, how good is good enough for God?
God expects us to be blameless and holy
God requires that we be blameless before Him. We are required by Him to walk according to His will and to be spotless in regards to sin.
Genesis 6:5-9 -Noah was blameless and walked with God
Genesis 17:1-2 -Abraham is told to be blameless
Philippians 2:14-16 -Do these things that we might be blameless
II Corinthians 1:2 -Called to be holy
Ephesians 1:4 -Chosen to be holy
I Peter 1:15-16 -Be holy as God is holy
God expects us to be ever more blameless
God requires that we continue to pursue perfection. It is not a matter of finding it and stopping, but an ongoing process. We must chase after it!
II Corinthians 13:9-11 -Aim for perfection
Philippians 3:7-16 -Press on to take hold, having not achieved perfection
II Peter 3:14-16 -Be diligent to be blameless
Hebrews 12:14 -Make every effort to be holy
God knows we cannot do this on our own
God knows that we cannot do this on our own, and that we need help. For this reason, He has provided us with helps and opportunity to repent.
Romans 3:21-26 -All have sinned, thus we have grace, Christ’s sacrifice
I Corinthians 10:13 -God will prevent too much temptation, will provide a way of escape
Luke 18:9-14 -The one who confessed, asked for mercy and forgiveness, and repented in humility was justified
Acts 3:19 -Repent, that your sins may be blotted out
Philippians 4:13 -I can do all things
God rewards blamelessness
God will reward those who are pure, spotless, undefiled, and blameless. If we wish to receive the rewards, we too much be blameless before Him!
Genesis 5:21-24 -Enoch walked with God
Hebrews 11:5 -Enoch translated so he did not see death
Revelation 21:7 -We will be His people
Revelation 22:12-15 -Inside are the obedient
